Amsterdam, September 14, 1999 - Sorenson Vision, Inc. announced today at the International Broadcasting Conference (IBC) that Sorenson Broadcaster, the QuickTime™ live streaming product, is now shipping. Broadcaster is the first product to harness the power of QuickTime to enable live video and audio streaming over LAN, Intranet, or Internet connections. These broadcasts can be played on any QuickTime 4 enabled Macintosh or Windows-based computer.

Sorenson's versatile software-only tool features preset configurations, making live broadcasts possible within minutes of installation. Custom options address fully professional webcasting requirements. These broadcasts can be transmitted using standard Internet streaming protocols and are compatible with any QuickTime streaming server. Dynamic new webcasting sites and events already using Broadcaster include BBC World, Fox News, Bloomberg Television, Caroline's Comedy Club and the recent Steve Jobs keynote speeches at Macworld New York and Seybold San Francisco. The software is also used by many corporations, radio stations, news stations, and universities to broadcast ongoing programming, interviews, corporate messages, and online training.
